Hectic life meet metropolis

In 2011 I first learned about the 'metropolitan life' the easy access to everything kind of lifestyle. A lifestyle attaching itself to an area designed to house peaktime fluctuations and in turn leave you feeling aware during 'the calm after the storm' period.
Imagine one whole building/area to fulfil all your needs and to satisfy all your goals set for that day. A post office, coffee shop, bistro, bar, games room, lecture theatres. Its not surprising young adults are lazy.
University campus is like a diluted form of the metropolis life, everything you do have that is close by is there for convenience purposes alone.
My phone for example, is a sort of metropolis in my hands. I can shop using this, take images, send images to a print room collect them on a set day, i can play games, videocall, i can distort images, i can seek knowledge. And now i can blog to my hearts content.

Ginger and Rosa

The movie starts with footage of the events of Hiroshima, Japan in the mid 1940's, followed by an aerial shot of a woman giving birth, the camera pans and a second woman giving birth in the same room reaches out to hold the hand of the first. This scene so purifying, the white sheets, the airy lit room, soft lighting is coupled with music, balancing the sound of pain with a somewhat uplifting tune.
The three opening scenes are so striking to me, they are very aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Each of the scenes like a set of scales, equally weighted, draw our attention to bonds and ties.
The name provides us, as readers to knowing who this film will follow, Ginger and Rosa.
I wonder why Sally Potter decided to direct and write this story in 2012 as opposed to doing it before?

More on this tomorrow, its 3am! Time to sleep.

Becoming Acquainted.

Acquaint yourselves, become phonies
Imagine these people talk more baloney
than you could ever imagine.

Sell yourself, lose control. Get a hold of yourself, bring yourself back down.

I will compress this. Flatten myself, become 2D. Hibernation of the third-degree.
If its causing fatality to our friendship, its God saying this was never to be.
Acquaintances are acquaintances if you feel yourself being allowed to fade.
When nobodies there to ask how you are today!

'where do the lonely kids go when the bell rings huh?'

Some of my thoughts right now. at 2:52am.
Why are we just acquainted with people? Is it to feed our ego? To uphold this sense of community, knowing everyone?
I wonder why it is that personalities clash? I guess there are many ways to look at this. But I want to look at it in the sense of wanting the best for people around us. Creating happy feelings, making somebody smile for a simple reason. After this it becomes sort of contagious you would think? No? Then I believe comes competition between individuals.

Today, relationships are built on acts of competition. Not just today, this is old news, Salvador Dali would tell you, as a young monster he would fight for his mothers affection, while his father would compete with young Salvador's demanding ways. The relationship grew into one of anger with his father.

So, vying for someones attention, is something that allows relationships to grow, if you don't partake in such vying does this mean you should clash with the other individuals?

I'm confused.
